Not just calls, even if the pedestrians are seen looking at the screens of their mobile phones they are going to be fined, reports Malayalam daily Manorama. The city police commissioner has said that there will be policemen on duty in casual dress near major road junctions to catch hold of erring pedestrians. The traffic police has also been given powers to fine.
