Now Mata Amritanandamayi's preaching in Kathakali form

The News Minute | September 10, 2014 | 12.30 pm ISTThe preaching of Mata Amritanandamayi, a spiritual leader of Kerala is soon going to be shown in Kathakali form.  Titled “Amritopadesham” the kathakali show consisting of 7 parts will be of two and half hour duration. The show will have 8 characters including Amma which will be played by Kalamandalam Ganesh, a famous Kathakali artist, reports Malayalam daily Matrubhumi. The reformation of an imaginary character ‘Tamas’ who discards his negativity and transforms into a good-natured person after following the spiritual leader’s message is the central theme of the show.Ganesh says that it was his wish that the message of Mata Amritanandamayi be spread to the people through such a show. He says that he met the spiritual leader to obtain her permission to do the same. After receiving permission from her, he wrote the script and performed the show in front of her. The show will be performed in a public platform for the first time on the birthday of Mata Amritanandamayi on 14 September.
