Nine arrested in Kerala for allegedly raping two school girls

Adoor police on Saturday arrested nine people for allegedly raping two school girls earlier this month. The police is in search of two more persons related to the case.

The girls, who are reportedly students of Class 9 and 10 respectively, were allegedly raped by a group of men on December 4 and 5 in Karunagappally.

Police said that the culprits brought the girls to their home, tied their legs and hands and sexually assaulted them. Apart from threatening the victims to not inform about the incident to others, the culprits also asked the girls to later bring their friends to them. Some of the accused had close relations with the victims' families and that is how they manged to bring the victims to their house.

The incident came to light after a friend of the victims heard them discussing about it in school and informed the teachers. 

As directed by the district sessions court, the girls are at present in the women's welfare home in Karunagappally.
