New weekly summer train ‘Suvidha Express’ to run between Trivandrum to Karnataka

The Southern Railways has temporarily  bridged the dearth of trains plying between Kerala and Karnataka by introducing two special trains this summer.

The trains will ply in the Kochuveli - Krishnarajapuram sector between April and July to clear the summer rush, Southern railways PRO told TNM.

The Weekly Suvidha Special train (No.82644)  will commence its first journey on Sunday, April 28 at 5 pm and reach Krishnarajapuram in Karnataka at 8:45 am on Monday. The special train will run on all Sundays till June 30th. It will stop at

Kollam, Kayamkulam, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Erode, Bangarpet and Whitefield.

“We decided to not stop at Bengaluru and keep the last stop at Krishnarajapuram as to avoid congestion. Bengaluru is already very crowded. With Krishnarajapuram, guests can alight at Bengaluru and the final stop will not be crowded,” the PRO added.

The return train (06027) named Krishnarajapuram -Kochuveli special fare special train begins journey at 4 pm on all Mondays until July 1. It will reach Kochuveli at 6 am the following day and will have the same stoppage.

The coach composition of both trains consist of 3 Tier AC (2 coaches) Second Class Sleeper (8 coaches)., Second Class General (2) and luggage rake cum Brake Van (2).
