Mohanlal’s blog on processions: People hit back at the actor with 'proof'

Written by : TNM Staff

After superstar Mohanlal criticized processions for inconveniencing the common man in his blog recently, people have hit out at him pointing to processions by his own fans’ associations for causing trouble.

A Facebook post describes how a person was made to wait for hours due to a procession by Mohanlal fans’ association who were celebrating the success of his film Drishyam.

Another post shows pictures of the actor’s fans’ celebrations disrupting normal traffic. It says that religious and political processions happen once in a while, whereas the fans’ association celebrations happen almost every week causing greater inconvenience to the general public.

Here is the post.

The actor had said in his blog, "During these yathras, our politicians, religious leaders, temple, church and mosque committee members please don't forget the common man on the roads. Your yathras, religious offerings and festivals should not block others way."

He further said, "This kind of practice that blocks the way of the common man cannot be seen anywhere else. Not bothered about others problems is a culture-less attitude. You might have majority support but that doesn't mean that you can take away an individual's rights."

A few videos on Youtube also demonstrate how processions by the actor’s fans cause nuisance to the common man.
