Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has taken over as the brand ambassador of the Kerala Blasters football team. The next season of the Indian Super League will begin in October this year and the move comes at a time Kerala Blasters’ co-owner, veteran cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has sold his shares.

The team is currently owned by the popular Tollywood film personalities Chiranjeevi, Nimmagadda Prasad, Allu Aravind and Akkineni Nagarjuna. Mohanlal, as the new brand ambassador of the Kerala Blasters team, was in Kochi recently to unveil the team’s jersey. The star also posted a picture with the entire team on his Facebook page.

One of the major releases of the actor this year would be Odiyan. The film is in the post production stage and will hit the silver screens on December 14th. Directed by VA Shrikumar Menon, Odiyan is a fantasy thriller that has Mohanlal in the title role.
