In view of heavy rains lashing Kerala, several trains have been cancelled and partially cancelled. The Southern Railway announced the change in train pattern on Saturday. 

While 15 trains have been cancelled, eight trains have been partially cancelled. Several trains originating from Kannur, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram and Mangalore have been affected. 

Currently, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning with ‘heavy to very heavy rainfall’ in eight districts of Kerala: Eranakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargode. Districts such as Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam, too, will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on August 10, said IMD.

Train No.17229 Trivandrum - Hyderabad Sabari Express: partially cancelled between Thiruvananthapuram and Coimbatore. [Note: This trains will return as Train No. 17229 from Coimbatore to Hyderabad on August 10]. 

Train No. 12081 Kannur - Trivandrum Jan Shatabdi Express: partially cancelled between Kannur and Shoranur.

 Train No. 16159 Chennai Egmore – Mangalore Central Express, which left Chennai Egmore on August 9: partially cancelled between Tiruchchirappalli and Mangalore.
