The News Minute | July 6, 2014 | 7:28 PM IST  While Kerala was frantically anticipating the safe return of its 46 nurses who were stranded in the strife torn Iraq, KC Joseph, the Minister in charge of the Non Resident Keralites Association was busy touring abroad, an article in Kochi Post says.  KC Joseph, along with the Member of Parliament from Kollam constituency, MP Premachandran, was in Philadelphia and is now in Illinois for attending FOKNA (Federation of Kerala Association in North America)’s function. The article says that FOKNA’s innovative programs include a variety of programmes like the fashion show they organize among women under the title of “Malayali Manga”. Kochi Post asks why the Minister found it necessary to attend such functions, when NORKA is supposed to champion the cause of the non-resident Keralites.
