The News Minute | November 26, 2014 | 7.30 am ISTThe High Court of Kerala on Tuesday declined to stay the investigation into the Titanium corruption case of 2005 which allegedly involves the current Chief Minister and Home Minister.The plea to stay the investigation was dismissed, but Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala’s submission that the allegation of conspiracy against him was untrue because he had not yet taken up the post of President of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee was considered by the court, Times of India reported."Investigation as such cannot be now stayed. However, arrest of the petitioner herein, and also his interrogation as part of the investigation will stand deferred until further orders," Justice P Ubaid in his order said."It is his definite case that as on the date of the alleged incident, or other relevant time he was not in fact the president, and that he assumed charge only much later. This important aspect will have to be considered by the investigating officer in the process of investigation," the order further said.However, the investigating officer has been given the freedom to decide who needs to be included in the list of accused and who need not.
