Kerala govt not against CBI probe in Kollam tragedy: Oommen Chandy

Kerala CM Oommen Chandy on Wednesday said that the state government welcomes a CBI investigation on the Kollam Temple Tragedy which claimed more than a hundred lives.

The cabinet which met on Wednesday formed a subcommittee consisting of Health Minister VS Shivakumar, Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash and Labour Minister Shibu Baby John

The committee is set to visit the tragedy site in Kollam district on Thursday.

The CM also said that some people were trying to politicise the situation.

Six employees working for contractor Surendran have also been arrested, the CM said.

The DGP’s office has already communicated to the IG office regarding the ban of fireworks.
