A staff member with the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation faced the brunt of taking out his ire against the state government on Facebook recently. 

S Roy, reportedly a conductor with Kattakada depot of the corporation, was suspended from service on Tuesday, after he allegedly posted a derogatory comment against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Facebook. 

Roy, in his Facebook post last week, had criticized the CM in the backdrop of salaries and pensions of the employees being delayed or partially paid over the last two months. 

The Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC)-affiliated Transport Democratic Front (TDF) had in fact deferred from an indefinite strike on Tuesday, after the state Transport Minister assured them that the arrears would be cleared soon. 

However, an FIR against the employee was lodged two days after he posted the comment. The corporation that carried out a parallel enquiry against the staff member, then suspended him till the enquiry remained pending.

According to managing director MG Rajamanickam, Roy's action was against the existing rules and laws of the corporation, and also against the code of conduct for a public servant.
