The News Minute | September 6, 2014 | 11.00 am ISTKerala government-run educational channel ViCTERS did not broadcast the PM’s Teachers’ Day speech. The sudden decision to not skip the broadcast made scores of students to miss the speech.  It is being alleged that the channel skipped the broadcast following a direction from the Education Minister’s office, said the Indian Express. The Education Ministry is headed by Abdu Rabb of the Muslim League, a coalition party of the Congress-led UDF government in Kerala.However, the channel officials said that the allegations were baseless and untrue. They said that it was due to a technical glitch. “Usually live feed from Doordarshan is switched to telecast it on ViCTERS. We had conducted trial run even last night. But today there were technical glitches in switching over from Doordarshan. There were some attempts made to correct the same. But we failed to telecast,’’ said the channel head.The channel had broadcasted some other show on education. Some schools that had internet connection managed to show the speech but the initial parts of it were missed.  However, the BJP has not taken the channel’s claim that it was a technical glitch seriously. BJP state president V Muraleedharan termed it a ‘government-level conspiracy’ and alleged that the Congess-led government had a ‘communal agenda.’
