In a freak accident on Thursday, a female bank staffer in Kerala was shot dead by an apparently unwitting security guard.

The deceased identified as Wilna Vinodh who works in IDBI Bank in Thalassery, Kannur district lost her life as the bank’s security guard fired from his service weapon.

"Gun was fired by mistake from the security person. She was shot at her head and death happened at the spot," Thalassery Sub Inspector C Shaju told The News Minute.
