Manu Shankar, one of the journalists attacked in the Patiala House court premises, has been receiving threat calls asking him to withdraw the case filed against the attack.

Manu, Delhi bureau reporter of Malayalam channel Kairali People TV, was severely injured in the Patiala House attack and had registered a complaint against lawyers Yaspal, Om Sharma and Vikram Singh Chauhan.

Manu says that for the last few days, he has been receiving threatening phone calls asking him to withdraw the case.

“They asked me to withdraw the case and warned that if I won’t do that, I will regret. They were repeatedly saying that it was JNU students who attacked the journalists and not the lawyers,” Manu told The News Minute.

Manu said that they wanted to meet him personally, and that they kept asking persistently about the place where he stayed.

“They said they wanted to meet me and they will explain the facts directly. I asked them to come to Press Club but they did not turn up. They wanted to meet me at the place where I stay.”

Manu said that they asked him to stop reporting about the JNU issue. He has given a complaint to the police.
