While Jishu Pranoy’s parents and relatives intensify their protest by starting a hunger strike at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, police are putting in all efforts to arrest two accused in the case, who are still at large.

Police have announced a reward of Rs one lakh for those who provide information on MK Sakthivel, the Vice Principal of Nehru College of Engineering, Pambady and CP Praveen, PRO of the same college, who are both absconding.

A team of high-level crime officers headed by DGP Loknath Behera on Thursday decided to constitute a Special Investigation Team to arrest the absconding accused. As per reports, the DGP has written to other state police chiefs fearing that the duo might have fled Kerala.

The Times of India reports that police have also decided to speed up the procedure for confiscating their assets.

Shakthivel and Praveen are two among the accused who have not yet got anticipatory bail. All other accused including the college chairman P Krishnadas are out on anticipatory bail.

Jishnu Pranoy’s parents and relatives reached Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday to protest outside the DGP office asking for the arrest of the absconding accused. Later the protest turned violent after police forcibly arrested them.

Jishnu’s mother Mahija fell sick in the ensuing bedlam and was admitted in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College hospital.

On Thursday, while Jishnu’s mother Mahija and her brother Sreejith began their fast in the hospital, Jishnu’s father Asokan and other relatives were protesting outside the hospital. Around 12 family members have also joined them in their protest.

Jishnu’s sister Avishna alias Arya began her fast at their home in Kozhikode’s Nadapuram
