Former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth’s excitement about his debut Malayalam movie Team 5 is sure to be somewhat dampened by the unkind criticism that has come his way, following the release of a second song ‘Azhcha’ (week) on Monday.
Audience now eagerly await the movie’s release, as they believe it would be a fitting challenge to internet celebrity Santhosh Pandit who is their all-time favourite target for churning out deplorable cinema that surprisingly has its own share of devoted fans.
A self-declared superstar, the Santhosh Pandit brand of movies has time and again be ridiculed, only to turn the actor-cum-director-cum-scriptwriter-cum-lyricist-cum-producer-cum-singer-cum-composer-cum-choreographer-cum-editor into an internet sensation overnight.
Earlier, when Sreeshanth’s movie-trailer and a song titled Neela Shanku Pushpame was released in October, it did generate a positive response. But the second song seems to have done the cricketer-turned-politician-turned-actor in with its bizarre lyrics.
The 3-minute-20 seconds video released during Christmas, has a plethora of ‘cha’ sounds from beginning to end, with almost every other day of the week figuring in between.
Ever since Muzik247 officially released the song on YouTube, countless netizens have wondered as to what crime ‘cha’ is deemed guilty of, to be featured in such a popping way!
Sreesanth's wooden expressions have not helped matters either, with many comparing Sreesanth's poor acting skills to that of Santhosh Pandit. A few did choose to be fair to Pandit, saying the latter deserved better.
Others however rejoiced over the challenge posed by Sreesanth to Santhosh Pandit’s monopoly over the pathetic moviedom that he has reigned over till date.
