IGP to look into arrest of Kochi sex scandal case accused from MLA hostel

The News Minute | July 28, 2014 | 3.03 pm IST The Ernakulam Range Inspector-General of Police M R Ajit Kumar has been appointed to investigate how an accused in the Kochi sex scandal case was found in a Congress MLA’s room in the MLA hostel.On July 24, an accused in the Kochi sex scandal case was arrested from Congress MLA Sharat Chandra Prasad’s room in the MLA hostel in Thiruvananthapuram. The arrested Jayachandran, has been accused along with four others of recording sexual acts of people and blackmailing them with it.Prasad has not denied knowing the accused, but maintained that he did not know how Jayachandran ended up in his room. Kerala Assembly Speaker G Karthikeyan has said that an inquiry into irregularities in the hostel will be conducted.
