The News Minute | March 7, 2015 | 10.45 am ISTIn what seems like yet another incident of moral policing in Kerala, a group of students from Sree Buddha Engineering College Alappuzha were attacked while celebrating Holi. Two students from the group have been hospitalised, severely injured from the attack.A group of girl and boy students were playing Holi as the attack happened.Subsequently, many versions have emerged of what really transpired. The students claim the assailants had political connection and while some locals say the college management was behind the attack. However police have denied all the claims and said it was a clear case of moral policing.“While celebrating Holi there were some issues over boys pouring colors on girls. The college had denied permission to conduct a Holi event inside campus. Some of the locals did not like the fact that boys were smearing colors on girls, and while an argument was going on two men from outside attacked these boys very badly”, Alappuzha Nooranad Sub Inspector of police told The News Minute.“They (attackers) were college treasurer’s men. Earlier also there were complaints against this treasurer,” a student from Sree Buddha Engineering College told TNM.Post by Sree Buddha Jail of Engineering.Tweet
