The News Minute | December 14, 2014 | 6.20 pm ISTA gang of robbers from Tamil Nadu who only induct below 30, professionalsFew members of a gang of thieves who were caught for a burglary that had taken place in Kerala’s Thrissur district in July revealed to the police that they and their colleagues had professional degrees.The group from Sivagangai of Tamil Nadu has four lawyers and two engineers. Satish Kumar, 20, a member of this group who was arrested earlier this week, revealed few strange features about his gang.He has confessed to the police that his gang accommodated only those graduates who were below the age of 27. He also revealed that a professional team including law graduates and engineers used to provide special training for the thieves.“It is a big gang and they are trained in a village of Sivagangai. Those arrested have told us that all the members of their group were well educated. They say that educated thieves are more sensible and professional” says Sasi, a police officer at Peechi Police Station, Thrissur.“We don’t know why these educated youngsters chose this path, but they say that they are happy. There are around 8 registered cases, both in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, against this particular gang. But every time, only one or two among them got arrested” he added.Earlier in relation to the same theft case other two members of the gang Raghuvaran, 23, and Sivakumar, 22, were arrested by the Kerala police from Pollachi. Both of them are graduates.
