In a reversal of roles, K.P. Mohanan who was a former minister in the previous Congress-led UDF government, on Tuesday was seen seated among journalists in the media box.

Mohanan was the agriculture minister in the previous Oommen Chandy government.

He lost to K.K. Shailaja from Kuthuparamba in Kannur district and has now returned to his earlier profession of journalism.

"When I decided to become a journalist I got a good response. All other journalists encouraged and appreciated me. I find this job thrilling," he told Asianet.

Speaking to IANS, he said, "I am planning a new edition of my paper Padayani. From now on you will see me more as a media person than a politican.”
