Drishyam/Papanasam actress Asha Sarath files complaint against fake video

South Indian actress and dancer Asha Sarath has joined a long list of actors at the receiving end of vicious cyber crime.The actor submitted a complaint to the Kochi Police Commissioner about a graphic video that has been doing the rounds on social media and messaging platforms claiming to be that of the actor's.“This was a purposeful act of defamation; police have handed over the details to cyber cell. I will go ahead legally that it defamed me and my family,” she said in a press release on Friday. The actor however admitted that the cyber cell may never to able to track down the perpetrators, but she believes her complaint will act as a warning. Police sources say that though the video clearly has some other woman on it, the description says it is Asha Sarath.  Asha became a household name in Kerala after starring in a popular serial called 'Kumkumapoovu'. She shot to fame for her portrayal of IG Geetha Prabhakar in Drishyam. She essayed the same role in Kamal Haasan's Papanasam. Other south Indian actrors like Ann Augustine, Lakshmi Menon and Deepti Sati have also been victims of cyber crimes.
