Actor Dileep’s remand period has been extended by the Angamaly First Class Magistrate court for two more weeks till August 22. Dileep appeared before the court through video conferencing, as the police had raised concerns about security issues in bringing the actor to the court frequently.

Both prosecution and Dileep’s lawyer did not appear in court in person.

Dileep has not yet filed a revised bail application after the High Court rejected his first bail plea. He has replaced his lawyer Ram Kumar and is now being represented by Raman Pillai.  As per the report, the actor will seek bail once again in the HC.

The jail authorities also informed the court that Dileep’s health is fine after there were rumours that the actor was severely sick and that he was having balancing problem. Denying the rumours, the police informed that there was a medical checkup and the actor is fine.

Recently there were allegations that Dileep is receiving privileged treatment and special food inside Aluva Sub Jail. Sanoop, a prisoner housed near the actor’s cell, has claimed that Dileep spends most of his day sitting in various officers’ chambers and only returns to his cell at night. He also alleged that Dileep is served special food prepared for the officers and he does not eat the food meant for the prisoners.
