Did Sreenivasan and Vineeth really criticise Kerala's Left? Read this before you share that post

A Facebook post against CPI(M) party, ascribed to Malayalam actor Sreenivasan and his son, filmmaker Vineeth Sreenivasan, has been going viral in the last few days.

The post claims Sreenivasan to have said, “Communism is just a trap to cheat the poor, and people fall in this trap and leaders eat them.”

“My father first told me to live as a communist, later when years passed he asked me not to become a communist and that he was mistaken then,” Vineeth Sreenivasan is alleged to have said.

The post named ‘Thanks for the Insight’ (Thiricharivinu nanni) was shared among BJP workers on Facebook.

Now Sreenivasan has said that neither he nor his son said anything as claimed by the post, and he doesn’t agree with whatever was said in the post.

Sreenivasan told Manorama News that he had never given such political advice to his children, and he had not yet stated his political stand publicly.

“When one of my friends clarified it in his Facebook page that those posts were not my version, a person named Biju called him over the phone and blasted him. Later, it was understood that this Biju was a Modi fan,” said Sreenivasan.

“This post is a lie particularly framed as election propaganda. I will soon complain in the cyber cell against this,” Sreenivasan added.
