Did a CPI(M) MP mention Modi in a debate on Messi's retirement?

Everyone knows there is absolutely no love lost between the red and the saffron parties.

Most Leftists end up saying 'Modi' multiple times a day on TV debates.

This actually happened 'live' on a debate -Counterpoint- that is aired daily on regional Manorama News channel. As viewers sat down to listen to an hour of heated discussion on what bigwigs in Kerala thought about Argentina's loss and Messi’s sudden retirement, Narendra Modi would have been the last thing on their minds.

But the same was not the case for CPI(M) Member of Parliament MB Rajesh. As part of a panel, Rajesh was responding to a question posed to him on Messi's retirement.

Rajesh ‘slip-of-the-tongued’ Modi -of all the people- into the discussion.

"There are reasons for his retirement. Modi (Read- Messi) even had issues with the Argentinean football federation ," Rajesh said.

It took Rajesh another ten seconds or so to realize his error, following which he bursts out into hearty laughter. Yeah, we too agree….that was one sporty goof-up, for sure.
