CPI(M) worker allegedly attacked by BJP workers succumbs to injuries

A CPI(M) worker, who was allegedly attacked by a group of BJP workers on Sunday, succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning in Thrissur.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Sasikumar. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital, after he was hacked while proceeding on his bike in Vadanappally in Thrissur district at 10.30pm on Sunday.

The police have arrested six BJP workers in connection with the incident on Thursday. 

Earlier, the BJP carried out a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Thrissur on May 21 after a BJP worker who was allegedly attacked by CPI(M) workers died. A CPI(M) office in Idavilangu was also burnt down allegedly by BJP-RSS workers.
