The News Minute | March 4, 2015 | 6.53 PM ISTMembers of the Communist Party of India (CPI) are protesting over an American company’s fertilizer field-testing in agricultural lands in Anthikad in Thrissur district of Kerala. The company has taken 20 acres of land for lease and has been testing their fertilizer in it. Following a report by Asianet News the company has removed the boards that it had put up in the fields for earmarking. The party members, led by MLA V.S. Sunil Kumar, have put up the CPI flags across the fields and want to know who permitted the company to do testing in the lands. “Anthikad is the largest agricultural belt in Thrissur. If a company has done such testing, the government must investigate the matter. Who gave the permission to this company to do such a thing? I will write to the Agricultural Minister regarding this and demanding a thorough and immediate investigation,” Sunil Kumar said. TweetFollow @thenewsminute
