While hearing the defamation case filed by Kerala CM Oommen Chandy against CPI(M) veteran VS Achuthanandan, the Thiruvananthapuram district additional sessions court on Friday said that the court is not a political playground.
The court has given time for VS to submit his affidavit explaining his side of the story.
The CM wanted the court to stop VS from making such statements.
Meanwhile, VS put out a tweet mocking Chandy regarding his move to approach the court.
"വെറും ഒരു മോഷ്ടാവായൊരെന്നെ കള്ളനെന്നു വിളിച്ചില്ലേ". ഈ വരികള് പാടിക്കൊണ്ട് #ഉമ്മന്ചാണ്ടി എനിക്കെതിരെ ഇന്ന് കോടതിയില്!!!

VS in a speech at Dharmadom earlier this month had alleged that there were 31 corruption cases against the chief minister and a total of 136 cases against the entire cabinet.
Calling this a lie and a violation of the model code of conduct, Oommen Chandy asked for an enquiry against VS as per IPC section 188 and 171. He also asked for a compensation of 1 lakh.
“The opposition leader made the statement in spite of knowing that there is not a single criminal or civil corruption case against the CM in any court in India,” said Chandy.
