Bar bribery scam: Thrissur Vigilance Court asks VACB to submit report by Feb 22

Written by : TNM Staff

The Thrissur Vigilance Court on Saturday asked the Vigilance to submit its report on the bar bribery scam by 22 February and said the progress made will be continuously under the Court’s monitoring.

The Court said that it will keep an eye on the developments in the case as it cannot now remain a mute spectator.

Coming down heavily on the Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau in the bar bribery scam, the Thrissur Vigilance Court blasted the former for not exhibiting the drive or will and for not having the honesty to bring the case to its logical conclusion.

Some of the other points made by the court are:

Just because the Lokayukta exists, does it mean that the Vigilance needs to be closed down?

Have K Babu's assets and home been searched for evidence?

FIR Case should be made out against K Babu and Biju Ramesh too.

It is the government’s responsibility to arrive at the truth in the case.
