A college under the Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam is planning to approach the courts after the mass failure of its students in a particular subject.

About 500 students of Pathanamthitta Catholicate college failed in English with very poor marks. The college says that most of the students who failed in English have scored more than 90% marks in other subjects.

“Those who have failed this time in English had scored high marks in same subject in last exams; even rank holders are there in this category. So we are worried,” one of the student told Asianet News.

All the students who failed belong to degree fourth semester batch.

Students who had got A+ grade in last semesters could gain marks not above 10 this time around. Students and management have alleged that this was a result of a major error by the University.
