Actor Jayasurya tracks girl whose song went viral on Facebook, gives her chance to sing in film

Social media can often throw surprises at you and for Shivaganga from Kayamkulam, Kerala, it opened up a different world altogether.

On Monday, Malayalam actor Jayasurya posted a video of a young girl singing the song ‘Manathe Marikurumbe’ from Mohanlal-starrer Pulimurugan. Standing against a compound wall, the young girl confidently held the mic and sang the song. The video shows Shivaganga standing against a wall, singing the song into a mic.

Posting the video on his official Facebook page, Jayasurya not only appreciated the young girl for her talent, but also asked social media users to share the girl's details with him.

The video was viewed more than 1 lakh times and shared over 2000 times. Several users then dug up with girl's details and shared it with the actor. Jayasurya, who thanked the users for sharing the information with him, came back with a second post on Tuesday.

In the new post, Jayasurya shared a photograph of him with Shivaganga.

"I am immensely happy to share a news with all of you. This is Shivaganga, the little one we saw yesterday on Facebook. She will sing in my next project ‘Gabri’, produced by Rajesh George Kulangara and directed by Samji Antony. Not just this, she will also be playing an important character in the film," Jayasurya wrote on Facebook.

The actor also thanked all the users who shared Shivaganga's information and helped him reach out to her.

According to the ManoramaOnline report, Jayasurya spoke to Shivaganga’s mother and told her that she was a talented singer, and requested them to meet him at his residence the next day.
