Ace Malayalam director is making a movie based on the Endosulfan tragedy

The News Minute | June 9, 2014 | 7:27 AM IST Dr Biju, best known for his award winning films like "Perariyathavar" and "Veetilekulla Vazhi" is all busy as the shooting for his next project "Valiya Chirakulla Pakshikal" has commenced in Kasargod. The name translates as "Birds with big wings" in English, and this one will be based on a tragedy, the impact of which is still largely ignored in the state - the Endosulfan tragedy. Th film stars Kunachacko Boban, and will be based on the true events of the tragedy including the government's ignorance. Biju while speaking to the media said that the media's role in bringing out the real impact of the tragedy was huge. The film will be shot in three schedules based on the seasons. Various activists who are part of the Endosulfan activists group is helping Biju with the film. One part of the film will also be shot in Stockholm, to portray the landmark Stockholm Convention.
