Woman found strangled and stabbed to death in Bengaluru

Forty eight hours after the body of a woman was found in Bengaluru Rural district, the police are still trying to establish her identity. 

The unidentified woman, who appears to be in her twenties, was strangulated and stabbed to death. 

"The body was wrapped in a mat. It was spotted by locals living in makeshift tents around Arasanakunte lake bed in Dabaspet area in the district on Wednesday morning," said Naveen Kumar, Dabaspet police inspector. 

"The woman was dressed in capris and a top. Her face is not distorted. We are still trying to establish her identity,"said Amit Singh, Bengaluru Rural SP. 

The body has been sent for post-mortem. The police are not ruling sexual violence.
