Written by : TNM

The News Minute | September 17, 2014 | 10.58 am ISTIn all probability, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has a stock of Zandu balm, or whatever balm or aspirin he prefers, considering the sheer number of headaches he now had to deal with. On Tuesday, KPCC president G Parameshwara upped the ante in the tussle between him and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, telling an English newspaper that he would not accept anything less than the post of Deputy Chief Minister. In an interview to The Hindu, Parameshwara said his being made the deputy chief minister would not create an alternative power structure in the state. The Hindu reported: “While Dr. Parameshwara reiterated that he would not allow differences over the issue of his post in the Cabinet to harm the reputation of the party or destabilise it, he added that the final decision is for the high command to take. He said there were no differences between Mr. Siddaramaiah and him.”He also said that his chances of becoming Chief Minister would have “definitely” become easier if he had won the elections from Koratagere Assembly constituency, and added that the person who heads the KPCC becomes the chief minister conveniently. The Chief Minister also has to make appointments to the various boards, corporations affiliated to the state government. The government has said that these will be started by the end of this month after getting approval from the central leadership.
