Written by : TNM

The News Minute | February 28, 2015 | 04:38 pm IST Every once in a while, the fast and crowded roads of Bengaluru turn into a Green Corridor. On Saturday too, a live heart was successfully transported to the HAL airport- a distance of 15 km from Victoria Hospital to the airport was covered in just 11 minutes. The coordination of the traffic authorities made sure that the ambulance did not have to halt anywhere in between. The heart was then flown to Global Hospitals in Hyderabad. The donor heart was from a 40-year-old male patient and the receiver is a 46-year-old woman. The Bangalore Traffic Police, which works on creating green corridors in the city as and when needed, uploaded a video of the heart smoothly making its way to the airport. Post by Bangalore Traffic Police.TweetFollow @thenewsminute
