Two 'journalists' arrested after allegedly misbehaving with police in drunken driving case

 Two persons who claimed to be 'journalists' were arrested after they allegedly manhandled and misbehaved with three policemen attached to Shivajinagar police station in an inebriated state.According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, one of the journalists Chanakya Shankar Kashyap hails from Assam and his lady friend who reportedly works with a Chennai based daily were booked under IPC Sections 332 and 504 at the Commercial Street police station.Three policemen were carrying out special drive against drunken driving on Lady Curzon road in the early hours of Sunday when they stopped a car driven by Chanakya around 1.30 am. He was subjected to breath analyser test and was found to be drunk beyond permissible limits.Following this, the police served him a notice and asked him to handover the car keys. However, it allegedly resulted in a fight where Chanakya punched a sub-inspector on his nose. The SI fell down and dislocated his shoulder, the report said.When another police official tried to intervene, he too was allegedly manhandled by the two journalists. A constable who was present there alerted the Commercial Street police station who arrested the two.
