A case of assault has been registered against 3 Sudanese students, including two girls, in Mysuru for allegedly assaulting a doctor couple on Saturday.

According to The Times of India, the police said that the incident took place when Dr. Karthik Udupa N and his wife Dr. Sugandhi were returning home in their from a mall on around 8.30 pm. A car which was driven by the Sudanese students rammed the doctors’ car near Agrahara Circle.

Karthik also claimed that the accused pulled him out of the car and assaulted him.

“After the accident I was trying to park the car on the roadside to check the damage when the trio overtook my car from left side and waylaid us. They pulled me out of the car, started to abuse me and punched my face. When my wife came for my rescue, they beat her too. The public came to our rescue. On seeing that, the trio fled from the spot,” said Karthik, who lodged a complaint at KR police station.

Following the complaint the police caught hold of three students – Zeena (23), Donna (21) and Godan (22). Police said that two of the students were studying law and the other was pursuing a B Com degree in a private college in the city, reported TOI.

However, during the questioning, the students blamed the couple for initiating a fight and filed a complaint against them.

However, Karthik asked police to analyse the footage from the CCTV camera near the accident spot.
