Three sent to judicial custody in Bangalore, including son of politician, on charges of gang rape

The News Minute | August 22, 2014 | 09:49 am ISTA court has sent three people, accused in the gang rape of a woman in Bangalore, to remand till August 26.The three accused, including the son of a politician, were earlier arrested on charges of gang raping a 22-year-old woman on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, by the Ramanagar Police station, states a report by Bangalore Mirror.The woman, who is said to be a sales woman, was allegedly abducted from near Majestic by two of the accused- Arun Kumar Gowda and Kempa- when she was waiting for a bus. She was then taken to a farm house on the outskirts of the city where she was allegedly raped by the three men. The third accused in the rape, Mahadeva, is the caretaker of the farm house.Arun Kumar Gowda, one of the accused, is the son of Narasimhamurthy, a politician and director of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), adds the report. The woman managed to escape the farmhouse and registered a complaint with the Tavarekere police. The victim has undergone medical examination and the investigations are on.
