A 22-year-old woman from Bengaluru was allegedly raped by the supervisor of the hospital she works in.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the incident happened on October 15. The woman had joined the private hospital just a month ago and was working in the house-keeping department ever since.

The New Indian Express reports that the woman was working on the fourth floor, when the supervisor Ramanji approached her with sexual advances. After the woman reportedly warned the 45-year-old, he sent her to Room 407, asking her to clean the bathroom.

However, when the woman went inside the bathroom, Ramanji allegedly entered the room, locked it and raped her, according to reports. It was also reported that Ramanji allegedly threatened the woman, and told her not to reveal the incident to anyone.

The incident came to light when the woman returned home crying that day and shared her trauma with her husband. The woman then filed a complaint with the police the next day.

Ramanji, who has a wife and two children, was arrested and sent to judicial custody, police said.
