IPS officer Alok Kumar could be in further trouble as a “bookie” has now lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta stating that the suspended cop had demanded a Rs 1 crore bribe from him.Mallikharjun alias “fighter” Ravi, whose name often crops up during match fixing of IPL or World Cup matches, has alleged that a huge sum was demanded from him by Alok and other police officials, according to report in Bangalore Mirror.The money, he claims, was being demanded to settle the “Orange Bar” case in his favour.Ravi and his friend had entered into a fight while at the bar on October 2014 which was recorded on CCTV cameras. Following this, complaints and counter complaints were lodged at the Vayyalikaval police station, he said.Days later, he received a call from police officials who asked for money to settle the case in his favour. An ACP reportedly told Ravi that Alok Kumar wanted Rs 1 crore failing which he (Alok) would use his power and inform the media about the case.Ravi also alleges in his complaint that Alok suspended Putte Gowda, a sub-inspector, who was Ravi’s cousin to put pressure on him.“On his suspension papers, the reason mentioned was that Putte Gowda did not take part in a raid by another ACP. But Gowda was attending training at the commissioner's office that day after duly informing his seniors. This clearly shows that he was not the target; I was the real target," he narrated in his complaint.The Lokayukta said that a case would be registered against police officials after preliminary inquiry.
