South Western Railways announce special train from Mysuru-Hubballi on Dasara

The South Western Railways (SWR) announced that it will be running a special train between Mysuru and Hubbali on Wednesday, October 5. The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Hubballi took to Twitter and shared that SWR decided to run a special train in order to overcome the extra crowd on Dasara.

“On 05.10.2022 on the occasion of Dasara festival. no. 06239 Mysore - SSS Hubli Express special train will run. This train will leave Mysore on 05.10.2022 at 11:00 PM and reach Hubli at 08:45 AM the next day. #Mysuru #Bengaluru #Hubballi #Railways #Dasara,” read the tweet.

The South Western Railways will run a one-way express special train on October 5, from Mysuru at 11 pm to SSS Hubballi. The train will reach Hubballi at 8.45 am. The train will run just in one direction from a crowded Mysuru to Hubbali, serving festival goers who are departing the festival's hub after it has concluded. According to the statement, the train would stop at eleven locations, including Mandya, Kengeri, KSR Bengaluru, Yeshwantpur, Tumakuru, Arsikere, Kadur, Davanagere, Ranibennur, and Haveri.

SWR is also operating a special train between Bengaluru and Mysuru from September 30 to October 6. The Bengaluru Cantonment-Mysuru DEMU Express Special (06521) will leave Cantonment at 11.30 am and arrive in Mysuru at 3.20 pm. The Mysuru - Bengaluru Cant DEMU Express Special (06522) will leave Mysuru at 3:30 pm and arrive at Cantonment at 7:25 pm on the other way.

On September 26, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Mysuru Dasara festivities, the 10-day festival that draws people to the city from all over the world. Murmu showered flowers on the idol of goddess Chamundeshwari, the patron deity of Mysuru royals, to kick off the festivities. After sombre celebrations in the last two years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year marks to be a spectacular affair.
