Senior IPS officer questions liquor policy of Bangalore Club

The News Minute | November 21, 2014 | 08:26 am ISTSenior IPS officer RP Sharma has questioned the liquor policy of Bangalore Club, allegedly hinting at its misuse, states a report by Bangalore Mirror. Earlier this month, Sharma had alleged that the guards at the club had misbehaved with him, following which his driver filed an FIR against the guards. However, soon several other versions cropped up which alleged that it was Sharma's retinue that manhandled the guards. Sharma was recently suspended from the club for a month pending enquiry. Read: A case of 'police arrogance & aggression': Raghu Karnad describes altercation between IPS officer and club guardsBangalore Mirror states that this is an 'offensive comeback' by the officer for being served a suspension notice. In a letter to Bangalore Club, Sharma asks whether the Club can sell liquor outside the area permitted by the excise department.
