Days after jail authorities unearthed a drug-peddling ring inside Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru, a letter said to have written by jail inmates has now surfaced.

With several prisoners set to be let free on January 26, 2017, the letter reportedly written by “Aggrieved Inmates” alleging misappropriation in the constitution of the list itself, is not believed to have gone down well with the officials.

The letter makes allegations against the board constituted to decide the list of premature releases, reports Rajiv Kalkod for The Times of India. The board had reportedly met on November 29 to take up the matter.

According to the report, the letter alleges that several prisoners whose name is featured in the list of premature release, are “notorious” and that they manage to do so on the basis of “money and influence.”

“A total of 78 names have been recommended for pre mature release. Unfortunately, three convicts among them are not only notorious, but sell narcotics like ganja inside the prison. The names of 33 convicts who had applied for premature release and should have been recommended have been omitted because they have no money or influence,“ TOI quoted from the letter.

Enough evidence for this will be found from examining the CCTV footage, the letter assures.

This letter has found its way to the Governor of the state Vaju Vala, the Home Minister, High Court Justice and other senior police officials.
