Hundreds of Bengalureans spent a relaxing, fun-filled Sunday at the first-of-its-kind day long Namma Bengaluru Habba organised by the Karnataka government at the Sankey tank.

Even though the day experienced light drizzles a few times, it did not hamper the spirit of residents.

People from all walks of life attended the festival and there was plenty for everyone's liking. From food stalls selling all kinds of mouth-watering fares to kiosks selling jewellery, art, clothes and locally made products, the Habba was a total hit. There were also cultural programmes that had been organised for the crowd.

Kavitha, a resident of Mattikere, had come to the Habba with her husband Raghu and their son.

"It is so much fun. It's colourful and amazing," the couple said.

Deepika, Harshita and Yashika, three friends, had a perfect Sunday outing at the fest.

"My brother is part of the team which is managing the event. And so we came here," Yashika said as the trio gorged on ice creams.

Residents from different parts of the city flocked to the habba with friends and family.

KV Ramesh, a businessman, who lives in Malleswaram, and his wife Sujatha are regular walkers at Sankey Tank. Today was, however, a different experience for them.

"We come here regularly. But today it is so lovely. And the food street is new and quite nice and we didn't have to go too far," Sujatha said.

The organisers of the Habba also made arrangements to avoid littering and ensured that the venue does not turn into a dump at the end of the fest.

Here are some pictures from the event.
