Bengaluru police arrested Azim Sheriff, district head of Popular Front of India in connection with RSS member Rudresh’s murder.

According to Kannada news channel Suvarna's report, Azim is allegedly associated with one of the accused, who was arrested by the police earlier.

One of the suspects claimed to have told the police during interrogation that they had acted on Sheriff’s instructions.

Rudresh was hacked to death by two bike-borne men in Shivajinagar on October 16.

He was returning home with his friend Jairam from an RSS meeting and marchpast when the attack took place. Two men, riding bikes, attacked Rudresh with a sharp weapon.

The police arrested Mohammed Majidullah alias Mujib(44) from RT Nagar, Mohd Sadiq(35)  from JC Nagar, Vasim Ahmed (36) from Austin Town and Irfan Pasha (30) Govindapura on October 27.

The police said that the attackers split themselves up into two groups – one to attack and the other to ensure that it was carried out.

RSS has announced that it would seek a ban on organisations which have played a role in the murder.
