The office attendant accused of shooting dead a girl in her college hostel in Bengaluru last week, reportedly attended a weapon training camp near his native place almost 7 years ago. A report by Bangalore Mirror states that investigating officers have said that the accused Mahesh K, who shot dead a 17-year-old student and grievously injured her friend in their hostel last Tuesday night, had undergone weapon training near Augumbe at Shivamogga district before he moved to Bengaluru almost seven years ago. The officers have said that they way he used the pistol shows that he is not an amateur and that Mahesh also accepted it in his statement.A senior police officer who is investigating the case told the newspaper, "He learnt to operate weapons like pistol, revolver and even rifles at that camp which he participated twice. As he knew about using the pistol, he managed to shoot properly."The police also said that the day of the shootout was not the first time Mahesh had brought a pistol in the hostel. He, according to the police, was in possession of the pistol for quite some time now and had brought the loaded pistol to the college hostel several times before, adds the report.
