Not affected by criticism, Girish Karnad to inaugurate Dasara

The News Minute | August 21, 2014 | 09:05 am ISTThe Karnataka government has formally invited Jnanpith awardee Girish Karnad to inaugurate the Dasara festivities that begin in Mysore on September 25.The government has gone ahead with the decision in spite of opposition from BJP and JDS. The BJP had objected to Karnad citing he was a non-believer.Karnad has accepted the government's invitation and has said he is not affected by criticism, and welcomes views for and against him.
