Mysuru royal family adoption challenged

The News Minute | March 14, 2015 | 5.13 pm ISTFour days before the Pramoda Devi, the widow of the late scion of Mysuru adopted a son from within the family, Kantharaj Urs had sought a stay on the adoption.According to a report in News Karnataka website, Kantharaj Urs, who performed the last rites of the late scion of Mysuru Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, had approached a Bengaluru civil court seeking a stay on the adoption of his relative Yaduveer Gopal Raj Urs as the heir of Srikanta Datta.The court has issued notices to eight persons including Pramoda Devi, and her late husband’s sisters Meenakshi Devi, Kamakshi Devi, Indrakshi Devi and Vishalakshi Devi, Tripurasundari Devi (mother of Yaduveer), Deepa Malini and Keerthi Malini Devi.Kantharaj Urs has also legally challenged a property deed executed in 1984.Read more at: Royal property dispute; summons to Pramoda Devi, late Wadiyar's sistersTweet  Follow @thenewsminute
