The News Minute | February 28, 2015 | 12.27 pm ISTThe Karnataka High Court has issued an interim order directing the state government to permit private schools to conduct classes in English by the end of March.The order comes after an association of private schools approached the High Court, seeking its intervention. The court said that the state government could no longer deny permission to the schools to impart education to students in English, following the Supreme Court’s direction that parents and teachers had the right to choose the medium of instruction for their children. A single-judge bench of Justice B V Nagaratna said on Friday that the government must comply with the Supreme Court order and given permission to the schools which had applied by March 31.
