KSRTC adds 20 new Ambari Utsav sleeper buses to its fleet

The Ambari Utsav buses will operate on key routes, connecting Bengaluru with major cities including Kundapura, Mangaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) expanded its fleet by adding 20 new Ambari Utsav sleeper buses, bringing the total number to 40. Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, along with Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, flagged off the buses on Tuesday, December 24. These sleeper buses will cater to long-distance routes across Karnataka and neighbouring states.

The Ambari Utsav buses will operate on key routes, connecting Bengaluru with major cities including Kundapura, Mangaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode. Four buses will run on the Bengaluru-Vijayawada route.

KSRTC Managing Director Anbu Kumar highlighted the advanced features of the Ambari Utsav buses, describing them as among the finest operated by any state-owned transport corporation. The buses boast premium interiors, high-quality reclining berths, USB and C-type charging ports, and a 2x1 berth configuration for comfortable overnight travel.

Introduced in 2023, the Ambari Utsav buses are equipped with aerodynamic features that enhance fuel efficiency and performance, according to KSRTC.

KSRTC operates 8,063 schedules daily with a fleet of 8,896 vehicles, serving 35.43 lakh passengers and covering 28.76 lakh kilometres.
