With the Karnataka bandh over the Cauvery river, the Kannadiga-non-Kannadiga debate has risen afresh, with Vatal Nagaraj saying Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar Shaw is off her rocker.

On Thursday night, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw tweeted that Bengaluru should perhaps be re-named “Bandhaluru” on account of the numerous bandhs. She also tweeted that frequent bandhs were affecting productivity. She has since deleted the tweets.

Karnataka has seen several days of shutdown on account of strikes called in the recent past, including one by central trade unions. Strikes by bus unions and protests against SC's stand in Mahadayi river dispute too lead to a shutdown.

Chief of the Kannada Para Sanghagala Okkoota Vatal Nagaraj told Tv9 Kannada “Avarige tale sari illa” which loosely translates to “She’s off her rocker.”

He said that no matter where they hail from, people who live in Karnataka must support the state.

A couple of hours ago, Kiran tweeted:

“If you want to live here, live in a dignified manner. If you can’t, then pack your bags and leave. It’s not right to give such statements without reason,” Nagaraj said.

He said that no matter where they hail from, people who live in Karnataka must support the state.

On September 19, he said Kannada organizations would protest against her.

Several Twitter users also slammed her for her views.

A couple of hours ago, Kiran Shaw tweeted that Karnataka's water demand should come first:
